Reign of Catherine the Great (11 oct. 1762 – 5 déc. 1796)
Description:
Catherine was the longest lasting female ruler of Russia. She supported Enlightenment ideals and worked to better the government structure and the rights of citizens (to some extent) within her country. She also was a supporter of military campaigns and had crushing victories over South Asian powers like the Ottomans. The success of her rule is emphasized by the fact that her reign was considered the "golden age" of Russia.
