The Vietnam War (1 nov 1955 – 30 avr. 1975)

Description:

After WW2, French Indochina was taken control by the Japanese, and then split into three new nations. Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia. However, the nation of Vietnam had become split between Allied-backed South Vietnam and communist North Vietnan. At the time, with the Cold War effects of the Cold War still in motion, and with the Korean War in recent memory, the United States was willing to do anything to stop the spread of communism. The United States sent troops into Vietnam to fight against the communists, but after a 20-year long conflict, the war ended after the South Vietnamese capital of Saigon was taken by the communists, and the USA fled from Vietnam, and the war ended in defeat.
