Rock and Roll (2 janv. 1950 – 10 avr. 1960)

Description:

After WW2 many teens were growing up and not going to war. This meant they had more time to listen to music which was all they had. Radios were becoming more available. Teens were working and could spend more money on music which rock and roll targeted to. Country Blues and Delta blues was not a specific target anymore which allowed rock and roll to form. A big artist that formed during this time was Elvis Presley. He was a hit. People loved his first song Thats Alright Momma which was released on 1956. Elvis really started the pop star in the Music genre. Another famous rock and roll song formed in this time period was Tutti Fruity. This song was created by Little Richard in 1957. Another even that really affected this time period was the payola scandal. Disc jockeys were getting credit for songs they didn't create, that way they would play their songs on the radio. This caused huge out lash in the United States and caused lots of DJ's to get in trouble.
