Frederick William III Rule (1 janv. 1797 – 1 janv. 1840)
Description:
After military collapses and neutrality in wars, William sanctioned the reforms proposed by his statesmen but this only made for a more powerful bureaucracy
The final compromise after the Vienna Congress he sided with Russia, this allowed Prussia to acquire the Rhine province, Westphalia, and much of Saxony. In contrast to these territorial gains, the last 25 years of Frederick William reign show a downward trend of Prussia’s fortunes, to which his personal limitations largely contributed.
