Massachusetts Bay Colony (19 mars 1628 – 7 sept. 1630)
Description:
The Massachusetts Bay Colony was settled in 1630 by a group of about 1,000 Puritan refugees from England under John Winthrop and Thomas Dudley. In 1629 the Massachusetts Bay Company had obtained a charter from King Charles I allowing them to trade and colonize in New England between the Charles and Merrimack rivers.
