The Enlightenment, also known as the Age of Reason, is well known for the rationalism, empirism, criticism, egalitarianism and deism. Easier said, this period is about logic, knowledge and moral thoughts. The Enlightenment was the starting point for the middle class. More people were educated, had good manners and common sense. The buildings and architecture became neoclassical, which means that they were shaped like a circle.
The Enlightenment gave birth to liberalism and democracy. The church and state were separated. The French Revolution took place around the late 18th century.
