Description:
-Idea fist formulated by Fracastoro in De Contagione-Eventually took multiple people and innovations/ideas before finally coming to fruition
-Others involved: Hooke, Van Leeuwenhoek, Semmelweis, Snow, Pasteur, Lister, and Koch
-1854, Broad street pump: 60% of the people drinking water from the pump had cholera vs 7% of people drinking from another pump. It was dirty water not miasma
-Germ Theory finally accepted from the cholera outbreak in 1897 after Hamburg and Altona who were both on the Elbe river should have came down with the disease but only one did since the other filtered its water
