Reign Of Genghis Kahn (20 mars 1206 – 18 août 1227)
Description:
Genghis Khan’s rule began when he started to ally with many nomadic clans. Using his military abilities, he conquered Northern China and Persia. Genghis was on horseback, conquering lands for most of his rule until his death and he chose military and government officials purely on merit rather than tribal affiliations. His military might came from his use of horses and powerful, multi-purpose bows. After his death, Genghis’ son Ogedei continued his work until his own death. At this point, the Mongol territory was split up between 4 of Genghis’ other heirs. (3.1)(3.2)
