Description:
- An Arab physician; became known as the Arab Hippocrates
- Based diagnoses on observations of the signs an symptoms of diesease
- Develpoed criteria for distinguishing between smallpox and measeles in 910 AD
- Suggested blood was the cause of many infectious diseases
- Began the use of animal gut for suture material
