Yuan Dynasty (1 janv. 1271 – 1 janv. 1368)
Description:
The Yuan Dynasty was the ruling dynasty of China established by Kublai Khan, leader of the Mongols. After conquering China, Kublai created a Chinese name for his family and then named the empire the Yuan Dynasty, as to appear Chinese; he hoped that this would make people feel less terrified of the Mongols. Over time, however, the Yuan Dynasty lost the trust of Mongols outside of China, as the outsiders felt that the Yuans were becoming “too Chinese”. This was one of the causes of the fall of the empire. (3.2)
