Description:

Shays Rebellion was an uprising in Massachusetts, led by Revolutionary War veteran Daniel Shays, 4,000 rebels were protesting economic and civil rights injustices. Veterans were angered when after the war, they were hit with property foreclosures caused by state economic policies. They were hit payments that they had no way to pay, farmers were arrested and their farms were foreclosed. At first, the protests were non-violent, but after they were expected to stop, it escalated. The rebellion ended when several rebels were shot and the rest were forced to flee at Springfield.
