43. The Roman Empire Falls Apart (1 janv. 367 – 1 janv. 476)
Description:
Unity under Constantine did not last long. 30 years after his death the eastern and western parts of the empire were divided again. Despite constant attacks from Persian forces, the eastern Roman Empire would stay together for centuries to come. The western empire was wracked by internal conflict, and were constantly attacked by the Germanic tribes, who were now stationed within the empire’s borders. The empire was also steadily losing money due to war efforts. Rome eventually collapsed under the weight of its own empire, and slowly started to lose provinces.
