War of 1812 (18 juin 1812 – 18 févr. 1815)

Description:

This was a conflict fought between the U.S. and Great Britain + their allies. Britain tried to restrict trade with France and armed Native Americans to protect land west of the Appalachian Mountains to prevent Americans from settling in the land, which in return, the Americans did not take kindly. They were also outraged at Britain's policy of impressment. Americans fought the British and took over Canada, ending all military conflict with Britain in North America indefinitely. This victory cause mass feelings of patriotism.
