Description:
The Pequot war was an armed conflict taking place in New England. The fighting was between the Pequot tribe and an alliance of the Massachusetts Bay, Plymouth, and Saybrook colonies.
Causes:
-The British wanted to take control of the Dutch-Pequot fur trade
-The Pequot wanted to maintain political and economic dominance over the region
Historical Impact:
-Early example of the colonies banding together for a common cause
-Set precedent for the colonies uniting aganist Britain in the Revolutionary War
