Description:
The scientific revolution occurred as scientists sought to find technological solutions to navigation problems and the rise of mathematics, astronomy and physics, leading to a branch of science known as Natural Philosophy. It was able to occur in Europe due to a rise in education, building upon the humanist movement of the Renaissance and spread due to printing technology.
