Indian Trade and Intercourse Act (21 mai 1790 – 22 juill. 1790)
Description:
This was the first law to regulate any trade between the Native Americans and the colonists. What it was about was that Congress proclaimed its treaty-making policy as well as make all interactions between Indians and non-Indians to where they were under federal control. During this time, federal officials favored efforts to “civilize” tribal nations, a sentiment that would later influence Indian removal.
