The Conventions of 1832 and 1833 (1 janv. 1832 – 31 déc. 1833)

Description:

Texans decided to hold a Convention in 1832 to ask the new government of Santa Anna to reverse the anti-slave, anti-immigration laws and taxes from 1830. The also want to make Texas a separate Mexican state from Coahuila so they could pass their state slavery laws. However these requests were never sent to Santa Anna. In 1833 they held another convention and created a similar list of demands, but this time they also wrote a Constitution to create the Mexican State of Texas. They elected Stephen F. Austin to travel to Mexico City and present the demand to president Santa Anna.
