WVU sports success (18 janv. 1980 – 5 déc. 1990)

Description:

A major culture shift at WVU happened between these years, powered mainly through the success of the Mountaineer football team coached by Don Nehlen. WVU had significant wins against No. 9 Oklahoma in 1982 and No. 4 Boston College in 1984; the year BC’s quarterback Doug Flutie won the Heisman trophy. WVU played in its only national championship ever in the 1998-99 season, but lost to Notre Dame.
