Petticoats were abandoned for long, straight skirts.1920's "flapper dress"
1930's wide leg trousers and shorts above the knee were worn.
1940's women began wearing suits.
WW1. Women skirts became similar and sorter due to lack of fabric.
Jumpsuits and slacks began to be worn.
After WW1 style changed radically.

Christian Dior introduced the "New Look" for women.
