A group of the 13 colonies start planning making a unified group. 7 write this plan of the 13.
It was a failure! It falls apart
First plan that said the 13 colonies should be together.
It’s the first time we are seeing people wanting to be unified.
This is where “Join or Die” comes from
Money is the problem. Where is the money for the union coming from? Nobody wants to give up their own money power. They don’t want to share!
Because of the existing tensions with the Native Americans, there will be a meeting called “the Albany Congress”. What are we going to do in order to protect ourselves?
The purpose for meeting is discuss protection and security.
The British leave them to protect themselves.
First ever meeting with the representatives between the 13 colonies.
Nova Scotia and Newfoundland were invited but did not show up.
There were about 26-28 colonies in total, but only 13 showed up.
