Machiavelli, The Prince (3 mars 1532 – 22 déc. 1532)
Description:
The Prince was written by Machiavelli after he was exiled from Florence. It was intended to restore the relationship with Lorenzo de Medici and allow Machiavelli to return to Florence. The Italian Humanist wrote this book as a code of ethics for all rulers to follow if they desire to be successful. It states that ruling in favor of the people only brings short-term progress while a reign where a ruler derives respect by fear has more substantial long-term effects.
