Description:
Caused by years of conflict between Parliament and Charles I that ended in a huge power struggle between the Crown and Parliament. It ended with the trial and execution of Charles I-- the first a monarch was ever put on trial. Also resulted with the replacement of an English monarch with a Commonwealth of England.
