The Proclamation
Act of 1763 (7 oct. 1763 – 7 oct. 1763)
Description:
English King George III made this proclamation following the French and Indian War. While one of its main purposes was to prevent a future conflict with the Native American population, its prohibition against future westward expansion was unacceptable to the colonists and was, for the most part, ignored. The bitter resentment felt by the colonists in what they felt were their affairs, only served to stir the embers of revolution to life.
