Council of Trent (10 nov 1545 – 12 juill. 1563)
Description:
In part, it was a response to the Protestant Reformation so that Catholics could fight back stronger than the Protestants. The church established more structure and rules and provided better leaders so that it could retain its followers and eliminate corruptness. The council of Trent policies lasted about 400 years. The changes made the church less corrupt and therefore could combat the influences of the Protestant Reformation.
