Shammuramat (22 juin 811 av. J.-C. – 19 janv. 806 av. J.-C.)
Description:
Shammuramat was the only female "queen" (technically she was a regent for her son) of Assyria (Mark, “Assyria”). She was relatively significant as her reign lived on in Assyrian and Greek myth as Semiramis, the mythical goddess-queen. Her reign flies in the face of the Assyrian tradition of women having absolutely no political power (Pollard 134), however it goes to show just how powerful anyone can become if one can win the respect of the army and the court.
