Description:
The grandson of Adad Nirari II, Ashurnasirpal II is best known for some of his stelae, giant slabs of carved stone, with descriptions of his banquets and conquests. His “Standard Inscription”, inscribed many times over, describes his military conquests and his achievements (Taylor).
