Louis XIII came into power at a young age, so his mother Marie de Medici took over the job of governing France along with Cardinal Richelieu until Louis became old enough. the long-term effect was Richelieu's goal to make France a great power, he advanced the ideas of absolutism which would later help Louis XIV, he attacked Huguenots and controlled foreign policy which resulted in raising more money.Ajouté au bande de temps:
