Ernest Rutherford Robert Millikan (30 août 1871 – 19 oct. 1937)

Description:

Rutherford was a leading nuclear physicist in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Before the telegraph was invented he made a device that could receive radio waves from up to a mile away. He studied radiation from uranium. He noticed that some went through tin foil, some didn't. Named the different types alpha and beta. He discovered the proton by putting alpha rays into gold foil. When some of the rays were reflected, he hypothesized that the atom was mostly empty with a dense center.
