Habsburg-Valois War (29 mai 1494 – 28 févr. 1559)
Description:
Caused by the invasion of Italy by France, the wars in Italy drew in multiple outside countries, as many European nations at the time had a vested interest in Italy—particularly Spain and the Holy Roman Empire, who both opposed French intervention. Fighting caused Spain to divert resources, particularly being unable to shut down the rebellion after German revolts during the reformation and set the stage for a multipolar system in Europe—where no one country would be dominant in Europe despite the fact that France lost the war.
