Reconstruction TIme Period (1 janv. 1863 – 31 mars 1877)
Description:
After the war there were 3 political camps, Confederates, Radicals, and Moderates.Confederates- wanted the south to be transformed into the Union.
Radicals and Moderates- Thought there should be consequences for seceding from the Union. They also thought that previous slave owners shouldn't have the same power they did before the war. They pushed for African -Americans to have equal citizenship and voting rights.
