Industrial Revolution (5 janv. 1740 – 1 janv. 1840)

Description:

The industrial revolution led to the release of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere with the coal burned in factories.
This created thick smog in cities such as London, that was sometimes so thick it was difficult to see in front of you; such weather inspired gothic authors such as R.S Stevenson in this famous novella 'The Strange case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
This pollution created a movement of poets and intellectuals called 'Naturalism', where going back to nature was encouraged.
