Description:
Democritus was the first to propose an atomic universe, one made up of atoms. He proposed that empty space was a void, and that matter was the filling of that void by atoms, and that such atoms were identical except by shape, arrangement, position, and magnitude. He said they were unbreakable, giving us the word atom from the Greek word for unbreakable
