Siege of Leningrad (8 sept. 1941 – 27 janv. 1944)
Description:
- resulted in the deaths of over 1 million civilians- had to use a hazardous 'ice and water road' across Lake Lagoda to get supplies
- eventually opened a land corridors (Jan 1943)
- Red Army victories elsewhere allowed them to life the siege in 1944
