King Edward II (8 juill. 1307 – 19 janv. 1327)
Description:
Viewed as an unpopular king and inept military leader. He unashamedly took the company of the country's peasantry and was despised by the barons for favouring barons the other barons hated. At the end of his reign civil war broke out and he was deposed by his wife Queen Isabella of France and her lover Roger Mortimer. After his son Edward III was placed on the throne Edward was imprisoned and then later murdered. Myth says he was killed with a red-hot poker.Ajouté au bande de temps:
