Cambrian period (21 sept. 545000000 av. J.-C. – 21 sept. 495000000 av. J.-C.)
Description:
Known as the Cambrian Explosion, the Cambrian Period is known for its multitude of diverse life forms. Mostly sponge-like creatures grew in the seas, but now animals started to swim, burrow, defend themselves, and crawl. Some life forms grew hard, sturdy shells which fossilized easily and gave us a clear form. There was very little life on land, and the only vegetation was algae. The weather was generally cold but slowly got warmer through the years.
