The Ptolemaic Kingdom (/ˌtɒlɪˈmeɪɪk/; Koine Greek: Πτολεμαϊκὴ βασιλεία, Ptolemaïkḕ basileía)[3] was a Hellenistic kingdom based in ancient Egypt.
