Description:
South Africa's ports and harbors were of paramount importance to the Allied forces during World War II, as they were a key strategic asset to the British Royal Navy. South Africa also helped to develop radio detection and ranging (radar) technology during this time.
This was a significant event as South Africa played a key role in helping to defeat Germany and the rest of the Axis forces.
