La Malinche (Marina) (13 janv. 1496 – 9 juill. 1529)

Description:

Presumed to be an Aztec princess, she was given to Hernan Cortes and his men as a gift upon meeting the chief of an Aztec sect and played a key role in the Spanish conquest of the Aztec Empire. Cortes took advantage of her, using her to act as an interpreter, advisor. Later, she gave birth to Cortés's first son, Martín, who is considered one of the first Mestizos (people of mixed European and indigenous American ancestry). She was assumed to be dead by 1429, but she reappeared briefly in 1451 but was no heard of after that.
