The Desert Archaic (or Desert Culture) refers to a long-lasting and widespread prehistoric cultural pattern of Indigenous peoples who adapted their way of life to the arid and semi-arid environments of western North America, primarily the Great Basin, the American Southwest, and northern Mexico.
