Bantu Expansion (1 janv. 1500 av. J.-C. – 1 janv. 500 av. J.-C.)

Description:

The Bantu expansion is the name for a theorized millennia-long series of migrations of speakers of the original Bantu language group.

The primary evidence for this expansion has been linguistic, namely that the languages spoken in Sub-Equatorial Africa are remarkably similar to each other. Attempts to trace the exact route of the expansion, to correlate it with archaeological evidence and genetic evidence, have not been conclusive; thus many aspects of the expansion remain in doubt or are highly contested. The Bantu traveled in two waves, the first across the Congo forest region.
