Khuzestan Insurgency (1 avr. 1979 – 1 déc. 1979)

Description:

Warring factions: Democratic Revolutionary Front for the Liberation of Arabistan vs. Interim Iranian Government.
Location: Khuzestan province, Iran
Note: after the revolution, different ethnic groups, particularly Arabs, did not align themselves with the Islamic Republic. Arab oil workers in Khuzestan would go on strike, and Iranian clerics would encourage hostility between Persians and Arabs. As a result, Arabs faced immense economic and political marginalization. Uprisings began with Sunni Arab rebellions, followed by other Arabs in Khuzestan.
