Description:
Geography: Algeria
Duration: 1963-1964
Warring Factions:
Algeria
Morocco
Supports:
Egypt and Cuba with Algeria

Description: Started largely from the Moroccan government's claim to portions of Algeria's Tindouf and Béchar provinces. Led to tensions between Algeria and Morocco for decades, official and cultural. Ending with no territorial changes and a peace treaty, followed by a treaty of friendship and continues cooperation in recognizing a demilitarized zone and in joint mining efforts in the contested region. Morocco abandoned territorial claims in Accord of Ifrane in 1972, although not ratifying agreement until 1989. Conflict likely influenced Algerian position in Western Sahara conflict.
