Weapons Supplier: Russia and Soviet Era arms manufacturers, illegal arms deals in neighbouring countries, Iran smuggled weapons through yemen into Somalia, stockpiles from the US, Oxfam claims: “At different times Italy, Romania, East Germany, Iraq, Iran, Libya, South. Africa, Saudi Arabia, and China”
Description: Total state collapse after 1991 then lead to power falling into clans, intermediary corrupt authorities, warlords, tribal leaders and islamic insurgents. There has been repeated attempts at international interventions by UN peacekeeping forces and humanitarian agencies.
