Description: This war was a prolonged conflict launched by Egypt after its defeat in the 1967 Six-Day War which Israel had seized the Sinai Peninsula. The aim of this war was to “dislodge” Israeli forces from the Sinai Peninsula and reclaim it. Despite high casualties on both sides, the war ended with a ceasefire. Egypt was victorious, and Israel did not have the freedom to use the canal.
