Description:

Following the failure of many Arab countries to displace their corrupt ruling power structures and see reform, the Second Arab Spring breaks out as another series of anti-government protests. In its deadliest civil unrest since Saddam, Iraq sees its prime minister resign. A coup d'etat in Sudan sees the overthrow of its president, Omar al-Bashir, and a transition of power to eventual democracy. A series of mass protests in Algeria sees its president, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, resign and the postponing of presidential elections. Other countries such as Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Syria, Tunisia, Beruit, and the Gaza Strip also see protests.
