1862 - 1863: The Walker Party discovers gold at Hassayampa Creek, Lynx Creek, Weaver Creek, and Big Bug. (1 janv. 1862 – 1 janv. 1863)
Description:
In early 1863, the Walker party discovered gold in four locations: Hassayampa Creek, Lynx Creek, Weaver Creek, and Big Bug. These were the instigators for many events to follow, such as the establishment of a permanent town, land auctions, and violent interactions between settlers and indigenous groups. In May of 1863, 25 men signed a contract that established Prescott as the first mining district in Central Arizona.
