Description:
Palestinian Arab forces clash with Zionist forces following the British withdrawal of troops. Neighboring Arab countries Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria all invade Israel.This conflict results in a victory for Israel and the expansion of its territory into Palestine, claiming 60% of the territory originally proposed for the Arab state. Additionally, 700,000 Palestinians, about half of the Arab population of Mandatory Palestine, were expelled or fled from their land throughout the course of the conflict.
