Description:

Golf continued to grow throughout the 18th century, with new courses appearing in Scotland and England. In 1744, the first known rules of golf were written by the Company of Golfers in Edinburgh, establishing the foundation for the standardized rules we follow today. The game began to spread to other countries, including the United States, in the early 19th century.
