Soviet Invasion of Afghanistan (25 déc. 1979 – 15 févr. 1989)

Description:

The Afghani conflict between the communist government and the anti-communist guerilla fighters sparked the Soviet invasion in support of the government. A coup was staged, and Soviet loyalist Babrak Karmal was made president of the country. For 9 years thereafter, the Soviets attempted to keep left-wing values present in Afghanistan and put an end to the civil war raging in Afghanistan.
