Barbara McClintock (1 janv. 1950 – 31 déc. 1950)
Description:
McClintock discovered "jumping genes," or transposons, which are pieces of DNA that can move within a genome. Her work showed that genes aren’t always fixed in place, challenging traditional views of genetics. This built on Mendel’s laws and connected to later discoveries about genetic variation and evolution. (https://www.nobelprize.org/womenwhochangedscience/stories/barbara-mcclintock)
